Time to get your child a flu shot

With cold and flu season on the horizon, it’s a good time to get your child a flu shot. The flu vaccine for children is typically available from October until May. Here’s the breakdown …

• 6-months to under 3 years old get two half-strength doses, one month apart

• 3 years old and older receive one dose

Patients are eligible to receive a flu shot during a Well Check appointment during flu season. If the patient is current with their Annual Check-Up, they may also receive the flu shot outside of a Well Check visit.

We recommend the use of proper hygiene techniques and a flu vaccine for all individuals. Not only does this offer some protection for the vaccinated, but it can also help prevent the transmission of these viruses to the medically vulnerable - both young and old - in our families.

If you’d like to schedule your child’s flu shot, please call our office at (817)652-3395 📲
