Are Children’s Vitamins Necessary? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Let's Ask Dr Poquiz ...

The short answer is that children's vitamins are not necessary. If you’re of a certain age, you might remember the TV commercials for Flinstones™ vitamins. You may have even taken the chewable that tasted like candy.

Today, you don’t see that many ads for kids’ vitamins, and there’s a reason. So much of our food is processed to include vitamin supplementation. If you think about cereal, milk, and even juice – almost all brands offer a vitamin-fortified option.

If you think it’s helpful to give your child vitamins, it’s fine. If a little body needs something from a vitamin, it will retain it. If it doesn’t, it will pass through.
