Little boy with a band aid on his arm

For kids, a cut or scrape is a fact of life. Here’s our recommendation forhow to treat a cut:

1.     Gently wash the area with water and mild soap.  Do not use hydrogen peroxide!

2.     Pat dry

3.     Apply Neosporine or any triple anti-biotic ointment

4.     Dress with a Band-Aid

5.     Wipe away any tears and offer a hug

A scab should form in 3-4 days. If you start seeing redness, tenderness, or streaking away from the wound, please see your pediatrician! And if we can be of assistance, please call 817-652-3395
