My Child Won’t Eat Vegetables … Will They Turn Into a French Fry? 🍟

If you’re involved in a battle royale with your child over eating vegetables, you’re not alone. I get asked about this topic almost daily, and my answer is simple: it will be okay.

When kids go through growth spurts, they need the building blocks that vegetables can provide. During these times, they may crave them. But if they don’t, do not panic. It’s not uncommon for kids to ignore veggies altogether because of their color, texture, or for the simple fact that it’s not fried.

Kids can get nutrients from other items like chicken, beans, fruits, and whole grains.

Finally, if you want your child to eat what you’re making, don’t be their short-order cook and make something else just for them. Over time, they may take steps like playing with their veggies, smelling them, and (gasp!) maybe even tasting them.
